Central Printing and the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce are looking for the 2012 Bridge Day Poster!
It's time to get your entry ready for the 2012 Bridge Day poster contest. You could be designated as Bridge Day's featured West Virgnia artist!
From now until August 10, 2012, you can submit your poster contest entry. The winning poster will be printed and sold on the Bridge at Bridge Day 2012.
How it works:
Entries should be submitted via email to bridgeday@officialbridgeday.com. For those who wish to submit but don’t have an email account or internet access, entries may be dropped off at the New River Gorge CVB office. Those entries will be photographed. All entries must be 12" X 16" vertical in orientation. Only one entry per participant is allowed. Artists can use any type of media that they wish. All posters become property of the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce.
Those who wish to enter will have until midnight on Friday, August 10 to make their submission. All of the entries will be compiled in an album on the Official Bridge Day Website. Voting will take place Monday, August 13 through noon on Wednesday, August 15. The winner will be announced on Thursday, August 16.
Voters will cast their vote by choosing their favorite poster on the Bridge Day website. The poster that receives the most votes is the winner.

The winner of the 2009 poster contest, pictured above, is Meredith Gregg.
Meredith Gregg is a nationally recognized artist and local treasure in the New River Gorge region.
Meredith moved to Fayetteville in 1995 after completing her undergrad work in Flagstaff at Northern Arizona University. She has been showing at Tamarack and currently maintains an art studio in Fayetteville.
The winner of the 2008 poster contest, pictured above, is Sheila Chipley.
Ms. Chipley is an artist, educator, art consultant, and art judge. She has been a teacher for over 35 years, 28 years which were spent as a Professor of Art and Art Education at Concord College. During that time Ms. Chipley has received several awards in Art Education, some of which include being recognized three times as Art Educator of the Year in Higher Education by the WVAEA and Southeastern Art Educator of the Year 1986 by the NAEA.
The winner of the 2007 poster contest, pictured above, was Steve Coleman.
Steve Coleman is a true “Native Son” of West Virginia born in Charleston, growing up in Bluefield, and now residing in Princeton. Steve started taking pictures in his youth spending much of his High School years in a darkroom.
The winner of the 2006 poster contest, pictured above, was Debra Lester.
Fine Artist since 1983 I consider myself a self-taught artist. I’ve taken workshops with Frankie Wheeler, Seay Earhart, Marilyn Hughey-Phillis, Pat Lusk and Fred Graff. I am past president of the Beckley Art Group 2000-2003 and I am a juried member of West Virginia Watercolor Society.
The winner of the 2005 poster contest, pictured above, was Jaime Lester.
